an impoverished artist, who became the golden boy of the Munich art
world, Thai artist Somboon Hormtientong’s colourful works, be it
through geometric deliberation or wilder gestured strokes, express a
universal language of life’s intensity and diversity, which
harmoniously balance spontaneity and control, limitation and
development, movement and stiffness, emptiness and fullness,
spirituality and emotion, conceptual rigour and expressiveness. |
